1. Overview & Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile software application Text Behind Image - BehindText (the "Application"), developed and published by Corvas ("we," "our," or "Service Provider").
We are dedicated to building privacy-respecting, high-performance creator tools and utilities. We believe that your creative work, device files, and private inputs belong strictly to you. This document provides a declarative, transparent disclosure of how the Application handles device hardware, permissions, and diagnostic data.
2. Architecture & Data Handling Architecture
To avoid ambiguity, we explicitly delineate data handling across four distinct operational boundaries:
A. Personal Information Collected Directly by Developer
None. No accounts, emails, or personal identifiers are collected.
B. Data Processed Locally On Your Device (Never Uploaded)
Subject segmentation and background separation are performed entirely on-device using local machine learning models (e.g. on-device neural segmentation). Photos never leave your device.
C. Data Transmitted to Our Backend
None. Corvas maintains no cloud photo storage servers.
D. Diagnostic & Advertising Data Collected Automatically by Third Parties
When you download and use the Application, standard operating telemetry may be generated by certified third-party SDKs (such as Google Play Services, Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob). This may include anonymous device identifiers, Android OS build, hardware architecture, screen resolution, and crash stack traces.
Device Permissions & Data Access
To provide its core features, BehindText may request the following device permissions:
Purpose: Allows taking a photo directly within the app to immediately edit text behind subjects.
Data Handling: Photos are stored in local memory for editing and are never uploaded.
Purpose: Enables picking existing pictures from your gallery and exporting finished compositions (JPG, PNG, transparent sticker).
Data Handling: Processed strictly locally. Your personal photo library is never scraped, uploaded, or analyzed remotely.
Third-Party Service Providers & SDKs
The Application relies on trusted third-party service providers solely for core functionality, advertising (where applicable), and app stability monitoring. These providers collect diagnostic or advertising device tokens according to their respective privacy policies:

3. Advertising & Commercialization
BehindText is supported by non-intrusive advertising (Google AdMob) in its free tier to support ongoing development and maintenance. Ad networks may collect anonymous advertising identifiers (Google Advertising ID) to deliver relevant or non-personalized advertisements based on user settings.
Product-Specific Disclosures & Clarifications
Photo Ownership & Intellectual Property
You retain full copyright and ownership of all photos you import and create with BehindText. You represent and warrant that you own or have the lawful rights to use any photographs, graphics, or fonts you import into the application.
4. Data Retention, Local Storage & Deletion
Because the Application does not maintain user accounts on remote servers, your files, documents, settings, and outputs reside exclusively on your physical mobile device. You have absolute control over this data at all times:
- Local Deletion: You can delete exported files or documents at any time using your device's file manager or gallery.
- App Cache & Storage Reset: Navigating to Android Settings > Apps > BehindText > Storage > Clear Storage immediately purges all local cached data.
- Uninstall: Uninstalling the Application permanently removes all sandboxed preferences and internal application files.
5. Children's Privacy
The Application does not knowingly solicit or collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in applicable jurisdictions). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information to third-party SDKs through the app, please contact us and we will assist in taking appropriate corrective steps.
6. User Rights (GDPR / CCPA / International Regulations)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may hold specific legal rights regarding personal data, including rights of access, rectification, objection to processing, and erasure. Because we do not associate your use of the app with your identity, we cannot query or provide records tied to you. However, you can manage diagnostic and ad personalization preferences directly through your Android device settings (Google > Ads > Delete advertising ID).

We may periodically update this Privacy Policy to reflect app updates, new platform guidelines, or legal obligations. Significant revisions will be reflected with a revised "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
